Step-by-step guide for processing cancellations
You can process policy cancellation directly at your Ownr Insurance Dashboard:
1. Navigate to Insurance tab from your Ownr Dashboard
2. Click Cancel Plan located in the top right corner
3. Complete all the prompts and confirm cancellation effective date.
Important: After your cancellation effective date, you will no longer have insurance protection. Ownr Insurance cannot issue confirmation of coverage (such as a Certificate of Insurance) after this date.
Cancellation Fees & Refunds
If you cancel your policy before its expiry date, a short rate cancellation fee will apply. Your refund amount is calculated using the below Short Rate Cancellation Table, which is also included in your policy documents.:
For annual payment plans
Since Ownr collects your annual insurance payment upfront, you may expect a refund based on the following formula:
(Total Premium Paid) x (Return % based on short rate table) = Refund Amount
