How to Change your Registered Office Address on Ownr

Corporations can change their head office address directly in Ownr, whereas sole proprietorships need to contact the government directly.

Changing the Address of a Sole Proprietorship

Ownr is unable to amend the information on a Sole Proprietorship registration once it has been issued, therefore Sole Proprietorships will need to contact their provincial business registry to update their head office address. Contact Service Ontario if your Sole Proprietorship is registered in Ontario. Sole Proprietorships in Alberta contact a Registry Agent to make the update. Sole Proprietorships in BC contact the BC Registries.

Changing the Address of a Corporation

To change your registered head office, simply click the "ORGANIZATION" tab. This will automatically take you to "Company Info". Then click "edit".

Then you will be able to edit your registered head office address.

Once you've inputted your new address, simply click "Save Changes". You'll then be asked to sign "Form 3 - Change of Registered Office". To view the form, simply click the eye icon.

Once you eSign the form and hit 'SUBMIT' you and the other Directors of your business (if any exist), will be asked to sign a resolution approving the change of address. All directors will automatically receive an email from Ownr with details on how to sign the resolution. You can also click the 'Dashboard' to sign the Resolution.

Only once all Directors have signed the resolution will the "Form 3 - Change of Registered Office" be automatically submitted to the government.
