Your Ownr Inbox Explained

Manage your official business emails.

What is the Inbox?

The Inbox displays emails sent to you about your business after your business has been registered or incorporated. Each email in the Inbox shows the subject line and the date it was sent. Emails appear in chronological order, with the most recent emails at the top.

The Inbox surfaces emails sent to your company’s official email address. Note, you may receive other business-related communications outside of the Inbox.

What is an official email address?

When registering your business, Ownr designates a custom email address to serve as your company’s official email address. This allows Ownr to receive documents and messages necessary to complete your registration. When your company receives messages at this email address, Ownr will populate them in your Ownr Inbox.

Please note: if you change your company’s official email address, you will stop receiving messages in your Ownr Inbox.

What you can do in the Inbox

You can view and download each email in your Inbox. Emails are downloaded in .html file format, which you can later convert to a different format (i.e. PDF). Downloading lets you share emails with others and store them for your records.

Note, the Inbox allows you to view and download emails but does not have a reply feature. To respond to an email from your Inbox, open the email provider you use (such as Gmail, Outlook, etc) and send your message directly to the sender. You can download the email from your Inbox to reference the sender's address or any details you need to include in your response.

Where to find your Inbox

Your Inbox location depends on your business type:

If you have a corporation, find your Inbox in the Documents section of your Dashboard.

If you have a sole proprietorship, find your Inbox in the Organization section of your Dashboard.

What Ownr does with your emails

Ownr passes along emails we receive regarding your business so you have them organized in one location.

Please note: Ownr does not take action on these emails for you. You are responsible for reviewing them and taking any action required.

For help understanding what an email means or what action you should take, contact the agency that sent you the email.
