How the Ownr Subscription Works
Ownr operates as a subscription-based software platform that provides ongoing legal compliance support to corporations.
Note: Sole Proprietors that register with Ownr are subject to a one-time fee and are not on a subscription plan.
The Online Minute Book (Basic) Plan is free for the first year and renews each following year at $199 + tax. The Managed Corporation (Advanced) Plan is $599 + tax per year. Both plans automatically renew on an annual basis, and can be canceled at any time. Ten days before your annual subscription renews, you will receive an email from Ownr regarding your subscription renewal.
Both plans cover important compliance items for your corporation such as corporate Minute Book maintenance and the Annual Legal Return filing (this is not the same as your tax return - it is a separate filing). Both of these items are mandatory for all corporations.
Should you cancel your Ownr subscription, we recommend that you find another service provider to ensure your corporation is meeting its legal compliance obligations, which include:
filing annual legal returns and ongoing government forms;
preparing ongoing corporate resolutions;
managing your company’s cap table; and
providing other forms of legal and administrative support

Understanding What’s Included in Your Ownr Subscription
The specific features of your subscription are listed in the Account section of your Ownr Dashboard. If you are unsure your Ownr subscription is right for you, or if you want to learn more about what’s included in your subscription, book a call with one of our Account Specialists.
Canceling Your Subscription
If you still wish to cancel, you can do so by logging into your Ownr Dashboard and clicking Account > Subscription > Edit. Make sure to read and follow the steps to offboard your company from the platform, as you’ll need to adhere to some compliance items on your own going forward.
If you are keeping the company active, you'll need to make sure you file your Annual Return every year & maintain an up-to-date Minute Book to keep the corporation compliant with the government. Failure to do so can result in the dissolution of your company and the risk of high legal fees as a result.
Cancellation becomes effective at the end of your current annual billing period. If you’ve already canceled, you can check how many days are left in your current billing period under Account > Subscription in your Ownr Dashboard. All future charges associated with renewals of your subscription will be canceled.
Downgrading Your Managed Corporation Plan Subscription
If you chose the Managed Corporation Plan and no longer need the advanced features this subscription provides, consider downgrading to the Online Minute Book (Basic) Plan. You can still maintain your Minute Book and make the Annual Legal Return filing for $199 + tax per year.
To downgrade, log into your Ownr Dashboard and click Account > Subscription >Edit > Change Plan > Downgrade.
Obtaining a Refund of the Renewal Fee
According to our subscription policy, renewal payments can be refunded if the following criteria has been met:
The renewal fee was charged no more than 14 days ago.
You have not used any Ownr features since the renewal.
The entire renewal fee will be refunded if the above criteria is met. Please note, we do not offer partial refunds or credits for subscription renewal fees.
If your situation meets the criteria above, you can reach out to our Customer Support Team for a refund. To do so, click on the chat icon in the lower right corner of your screen.
In the chat message type “refund”. Then follow the prompts to submit a ticket. Our team will review your ticket and process the refund if you have met the eligibility criteria. We will update you regarding the status of your ticket within 24 business hours.
